The Council Leadership Academy Shines in Harvard Model Congress Dubai 2020

From January 23 till January 25, 2020, seven enthusiastic delegates from The Council Leadership Academy invested all their knowledge, skills, talents, and diplomacy in The Harvard Model Congress Dubai 2020 conference. As first-time participants in this program, they were able to demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and wit as they represented congressmen heavily debating the most sensitive bills in both Committee Sessions and then the House of Senates and House of Representatives.

Layanne El Assaad, Lyne Marie Abou Jaoude, Gabriel Khoury, Robin Abboud, Pietra Makhoul, Tracy Tawil, and Gaya Ziade had been intensely preparing for their conference with The Council since November. They had undergone training sessions regarding the rules of procedure, public speaking, bill drafting, and others. They had completed their pre-conference assignments and became fully ready to embark on their journey to Dubai.

After two days of settling in, safari trips, and monument visiting, the seven delegates could not wait to use all their research and preparation. They arrived early to the American University of Dubai to begin with three hectic and challenging days. Throughout the Harvard Model Congress conference, they had the chance to practice their public speaking, negotiations, conflict resolution, and diplomacy skills in order to persuade other congressmen to vote on their bills. Their proper preparation and training paid off as they were able to harvest 6 out of 7 awards, as follows:

Layanne El Assaad: Best Delegate Award

Lyne Marie Abou Jaoude: Best Delegate Award

Pietra Makhoul: Honorable Mention Award

Tracy Tawil: Honorable Mention Award

Gabriel Khoury: Honorable Mention Award

Robin Abboud: Honorable Mention Award

Gaya Ziade: Participation Certificate

Congratulations!
